Light Sensitive

When: Feb. 14-May 12 2013

From the passions of Kenneth Montague and the Rubell family to the Nasher's own shrewd acquisitions, the Duke institution has put collectors on display along with their holdings. Now the museum focuses in on photography collectors in the Old North State, showing more than 100 images from 12 collections. On display through May 12, Light Sensitive includes work by local and regional artists such as MJ Sharp, Susan Harbage Page, Tom Rankin and Burk Uzzle, as well as internationally known legends and contemporaries including Diane Arbus, Ralph Eugene Meatyard, Anthony Goicolea and Robert Frank. Co-organized by guest curator Patricia Leighten and Nasher interim director and senior curator Sarah Schroth, Light Sensitive spans the entire history of the medium. The 7:30 p.m. opening reception is free. —Chris Vitiello
