Let There Be Rock, Tim Stambaugh, Graymatter, Steph Stewart, JRowdy and the NightShift, Samba das Sombras Trio, Melissa Swingle, Campfires & Constellations

When: Sun., Oct. 4, 12:30 p.m. 2015

Starting with a showcase by Durham “school of rock” Let There Be Rock and closing with Campfires and Constellations’ rough-and-tumble country rock, the 506 fits eight acts into about six hours on a Sunday afternoon. Local Americana veteran Melissa Swingle delivers a duo set, preceded by world-fusion dance trio Samba das Sombras, hip-hop emcee (J)Rowdy and folk songwriter Steph Stewart. With variety serving as the venue’s goal, it has succeeded. Acoustic outfit Graymatter and bluegrass artist Tim Stambaugh round out this outdoor stage micro-fest, just one element of the town’s larger Festifall. Check chapelhillfestifall.com. —Corbie Hill
