Lee & Lee

When: Mon., March 4, 7:30 p.m. 2013

So, a Chinese cook and and a Jewish cook meet in cooking class ... This is the premise for Lee and Lee, a staged reading of an original work-in-progress by INDY Week contributor Adam Sobsey. In a play filled with humor, racial jabs and lots of food, the Chinese cook (Li) and the Jewish cook (Leibowitz) will demonstrate how to make fried rice and lokshen kugel, respectively, all while exploring their cultures' ethnic similarities and stereotypes. (Apparently the King of Siam once referred to the Chinese people as "The Jews of Asia.") The reading features Tamara Kissane and Yin Song. —Emma Miller
