La Sylphide

La Sylphide has been called the "'granddaddy' of all romantic ballets." The production debuted in 1836 Carolina Ballet artistic director Robert Weiss helms this performance and concerns a soon-to-be-married Scot who falls in love with a sylph, who is not his betrothed. The program includes principal guest choreographer Lynn Taylor-Corbett's new work Nine by Twelve. Taylor-Corbett is well-known in the Triangle and has received two Tony Award nominations for her work on Broadway. Performances run through Apr. 4, with shows at 2 and 8.
