L-E-V with Sharon Eyal & Gai Behar – House

When: Oct. 8-9, 7:30 p.m. 2013

L-E-V is a new yet familiar ensemble of dancers, gathered by Israeli choreographers Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar, whose work has been seen locally through the Batsheva Dance Company. For L-E-V, they present House, an evening-length work that combines Eyal's performance skill with Behar's talent for putting together raves and underground art events. The work is staged in suggestive dimness and performed in tight body suits that range from diaphanous fabric to wet leather; the movement is sinewy and sexual, raising the rawness of the club floor to an existential level. House premiered in July at Jacob's Pillow in Massachusetts. —Chris Vitiello
