Kyle Abraham/Abraham.In.Motion

When: June 26-28, 8 p.m. 2012

A mischievous DJ on an inner-city radio station mixes it up with callers between jams like the Brothers Johnson's Strawberry Letter 23—but the static keeps encroaching as the signal scrambles and drifts. Finally, all is white noise. Is it an autobiographical moment from a choreographer's child in Pittsburgh? A metaphor for a father's slow fade into Alzheimer's? Or is it both—and then more?

Kyle Abraham makes his festival debut with his company, Abraham.In.Motion. They bow with The Radio Show, a work asking what happens to all that signal—and all those listeners—when personal and community landmarks go permanently off the air. Catch June 26–28 at 8 p.m. —Byron Woods

Price: $18-28
