Ke$ha, LMFAO, Spank Rock

When: Tue., Aug. 9, 7 p.m. 2011

Against most odds, Ke$ha has successfully entered the third phase of her popularity, elevating her from a performer who seemed destined to be a footnote to, dare I say, an artist quickly building a big catalog and a reassuring persona. The world first met Ke$ha as the other voice on Flo Rida's strip-club anthem "Right Round"; her currency-anchored mononym didn't come into popular use until several months later, when she released "Tik Tok," a party song that seemed destined for the one-hit-wonder dustbins. Thing is, Ke$ha has followed that up with several songs that are even more memorable and a bacchanalian attitude that's actually well considered and clever. "One of the most important things in the world is having the ability to turn someone's mood from mediocre to excellent in three minutes," she told Interview Magazine last year. "It's like a fucking magic trick." With LMFAO and Spank Rock. —Grayson Currin
