When: Fri., Nov. 16, 6:30 p.m. 2012
Bless those magnificent Scandinavians! The relentless ice and gloom of their noble homeland has yielded some of the finest in thriller fiction in recent years. First the Swedes reinvented vampires with Let the Right One In and tattooed hacker-journalist-riot girls with the Dragon Tattoo books, and now the Norwegian Jo Nesbø is poised to break out on this side of the Atlantic.
Nesbø's novels, most of which feature Inspector Harry Hole, have been acclaimed as the next Stieg Larsson by no less than the Washington Post—and no less than Martin Scorsese has been confirmed as a director of Nesbø's novel The Snowman. This local appearance might be your only chance to meet the author with a semi-reasonable line, so take it while you can. Nesbø's 6:30 p.m. visit promotes his latest novel, Phantom; all copies of this book to be signed must be purchased at the store. —Zack Smith
