It's not exactly the Polar Express, but it does have a real (wink wink) Santa aboard. The annual fundraiser for educational programs at the N.C. Museum of Life and Science, the Santa Train is a special nighttime train ride that winds through the grounds of the museum and up to the North Pole for a meet and greet with the right jolly old elf. And--get this--the train is so fast and/or magical that it's only a 20-minute round trip. Bundle up the kids and hop aboard. The trains depart from 433 Murray Ave. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 3-4 and each weekend through Dec. 19 from 5:40-8:20 p.m. Tickets are $6 ages three and up and free under three years old.
