Mark Gordon's large sculptures (pictured) feel so organic in part because their special combination of materials make sense only in the cauldron of nature. Gordon combines wood, metal and clay to create spectacular installations. "Most of the pieces will be suspended, suggesting interaction," Gordon says. The Durham Art Guild will be exhibiting the Wilson artist's work in the CCB Gallery from March 15 through April 8. Also featured will be work by area artists Lorin Fields, Ursula Goebels-Ellis, Shianna Kuhn, Michele Natale, Betsy Puckett, Adele Wayman and Donovan Zimmerman. There will be an opening reception on March 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. Call 560-2713 for details.
