In theater

Ah, Mother Nature: the original theater critic. She gave PlayMakers' Proof the big thumbs down last Wednesday and Thursday, arbitrarily rescheduled the opening of Amy and David Sedaris' Book of Liz by Actors Comedy Lab at Theatre in the Park, and simply vetoed the opening week of Burning Coal Theater's Irish drama Juno and the Paycock.

As a result, PlayMakers has added an extra performance of Proof, this Sunday at 8 p.m.; patrons with tickets for canceled shows can exchange them for any show left in the run by calling 962-PLAY. Since Ira David Wood's run of A Christmas Memory begins at TIP on Dec. 20, The Book of Liz must close this Sunday--call 831-6058 for more info. And Burning Coal has added Wednesday shows to their run of Juno which opens tonight and runs Wednesdays-Sundays at Raleigh Little Theatre through Dec. 22. Call 388-0066 for further details. --Byron Woods
