In theater

In the early 1700s, Silvia, the daughter of a rich Parisian, is about to enter into an arranged marriage. But in order to find out what her anonymous fiance's really like, she switches places with her chambermaid just before they meet. This being a romantic comedy, of course, the same switcheroo's taken place on the other side of the gender divide. He doesn't know. Neither does she. Let the games begin. Betsy Henderson, Katja Hill (both pictured), David Byron Hudson and Michael Brocki all trade places more than once in Deep Dish Theater Company's The Game of Love and Chance, Pierre Marivaux's 18th-century comedy. Tony Lea directs this quartet of assumed identities, Nov. 7 through 23 at the theater's space in Chapel Hill's University Mall. For reservations, call 967-6934. --Byron Woods
