Paint-In Consciousness Experimental Theatre (P.I.C.E.T.) provides a venue for young people to express themselves creatively in eclectic artistic and theatrical ways. The group stages youth-directed performances to illustrate issues facing youth today, including the tyranny of gender roles and problems related to socioeconomic disparities. P.I.C.E.T. was created by high-school student Michael Quattlebaum, who's been writing and performing from an early age. The group's next performance piece, Overexposed Dance Night, invites the audience to participate in a performance inspired by the idea of stories and public figures being overexposed by tabloid journalism, and the untruths that can spin out of control as a result. Audience members are encouraged to wear a costume and be prepared to dance, this Thursday, Jan. 31, at 7:30 at Raleigh's Artspace. Call 821-2787 for details.
