If you just haven't gotten enough anomie, paranoia and hysteria lately, then Pieces of Eight: One-Acts by Albee, Beckett, Pinter, Stoppard and Others should be just the ticket. Compiled originally by legendary director Alan Schneider, this evening of theater, put on by a student cast out of the Department of Theater Studies at Duke, offers audiences a sampling of works by some of the greatest playwrights of the last century. The eight one-acts include, among others, "The Black and the White," by Harold Pinter, "Come and Go," by Samuel Beckett, "Foursome," by Eugene Ionesco, and "The Unexpurgated Memoirs of Bernard Mergendeiler," by Jules Feiffer. There will be four performances over one weekend, Nov. 29-Dec. 1 at 8 p.m., and a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, Dec. 2. Call Duke's Bryan Center at 684-4444 for details, or visit www.tickets.duke.edu.
