For us humans, it's a little hard to identify with spiders. But Jelly Educational Theater's new musical play, Spiders on Strike (pictured above), shows another side to these fuzzy, multilegged arachnids and the nature of prejudice. You see, the "orb-weaving" spiders and the "jumping spiders" see their different talents as reasons for suspicion. When humans step into the picture, these creepy-crawlies find out their fellow spiders aren't so bad by comparison. Take the kids to see Spiders on Strike; it's the theater's last show and the puppets of insects will impress little ones. Spiders on Strike comes to Southeast Raleigh High on Saturday, March 18, at 10:30 a.m. and their final performance will be Saturday, March 25, at 10:30 a.m. at Carrboro Elementary School. Tickets are $6. Questions? Call 932-6267. --Cynthia Greenlee
