Bronwyn Merritt Gallery in Carrboro is showing the inimitable ink drawings of Snow Camp's Katie Price through Oct. 12. "When I first saw them, they reminded me of Edward Gorey, sort of Gothic and cartoon-like," Merritt says, referring to the artist whose bizarre, fantastical illustrations can be found in many children's books. "They seem like they have a story behind them. Katie Price has a lot of feeling for the pieces personally. She calls them 'My girls.'" Merritt says that Price's 8-by-10 inch drawings "have the quality of an old photograph that you find in the attic. When she unwrapped the first one I said 'Oh yeah, I'll show these.'" (See "She Never Told a Soul," pictured.) There will be a reception for the artist Saturday, Sept. 22, 7-9 p.m. Call 929-9666 for details.
