If you're more than 12 years old and love Harry Potter, it's safe to come out of the closet. Barnes & Noble in Durham is offering Harry Potter groupies, young and old, a chance to indulge their mania for the Muggle-raised young wizard with the Harry Potter Read Out. From 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, volunteers can read their favorite passages from the Potter trilogy and celebrate Read Across America Day. Local TV personalities Bill Reh (WB 22) and WRAL's Jim Payne will read part of the saga that has taken the world by storm, but there are spots left for fans with a yen to perform. If you're not an exhibitionist, show up anyway; a percentage of sales will support Duke Children's Primary Care Reach Out and Read Program. Call 419-8290 to "read out" or for further details. --Cynthia Greenlee
