For a cultural experience, check out Jayanthi Balachandran, a famed Indian classical dancer, presented by Pinecone and the North Carolina Museum of History. On Sunday, Jan. 12, as a part of the Music of Carolina Series, Balachandran will perform this intriguing art form that she has been perfecting for over a decade. After working extensively with one of the best Indian classical dancers in the world, Chitra Visweswaran, she made her dancing debut in Madras, India, in 1986. Balachandran specifically focuses on the Bharaianalyarn style of classical dance, and has made a successful career in India, performing in various competitions and television shows.
