The largest Latin American festival in the Carolinas and one of the best all-round parties in the Triangle, La Fiesta del Pueblo, returns to the N.C. State Fairgrounds this week with two days of food, music, dancing and ninolandia along with traditional Latin American arts and crafts, cultural exhibits and displays from every Latin American country. The fiesta is Saturday, Sept. 11 from noon to 8 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 12 from noon to 6 p.m. Admission is $1 for adults and free for children under 12. Visit elpueblo.org/events/lafiesta for details and directions.

In a sweet deal to honor La Fiesta del Pueblo, Fiesta-goers with a hand stamp get in to the N.C. Museum of Art's Ricardo Lemvo & Makina Loca concert for only $5! Regular admission at the museum's outdoor amphitheater is $18 and $5 for children ages 2-12. Showtime is 8:30 p.m., a half hour later than usual, to give Fiesta folks time to trickle over.

Lemvo, the nutty professor of world music dance parties, churns out sizzling salsa and soukous.
