In festivals

Did you know that Lebanese immigrants first came to Raleigh as early as 1910? Today, the community has grown to more than 2,000 in the Triangle, and it will host the second annual Lebanese Festival to celebrate old world customs. The event takes place on May 6 at the Governor Holshouser Building on the state fairgrounds in Raleigh. Live traditional music, tasty pastries flavored with the essence of rosewater, dabke dancing, cultural and historic displays about Lebanon, and arts and crafts will entertain visitors from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Contact Genevieve Joseph at 838-9191 for more information.
