Inspired by the planned spontaneity of 1920s Dada artists, a local trio called the Media Men periodically indulges Triangle audiences with mixed-media shows that involve audience participation, lots of gadgetry, images and a steady sound mix from Dr. Spin/Cycle. The latest of these is Lomoscope, and it revolves around the Lomo, a miniature camera manufactured in St. Petersburg that has gained a cult following with amateurs and professionals alike. Lomo chat rooms, Web sites and online galleries are all over the Internet, but for a live experience with the little instruments, head over to Artspace on Saturday, July 29 at 9 p.m., and take some Lomo images (pictured above) yourself. Lomographers are also invited to hang their work throughout the evening. For details, call 821-2787.
