In cultural celebrations


On Saturday, Jan. 25 take part in the activity-packed Second Annual African American Cultural Celebration. With something for every member of the family, this event also offers a chance to learn about African-American history. N.C. Folk Heritage Award-winning blues guitarist Etta Baker will be performing, as well as rap duo The Nobodies and St. Augustine's College Gospel Choir. A fashion show and a performance by the Southeast Raleigh High School step team, storytelling and hands-on crafts will also take place. The celebration runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the N.C. Museum of History in Raleigh.
