Tishamingo calls its music country rock. But don't be lookin' for no Eagles or Flying Burritos floppin' around this stuff. Though the band now calls Athens, Ga. home, their sound was bred in the murky swamplands of Florida. Tishimingo has studied the basics of wildass and passed their final exams. Guitarists Cameron Williams and Jess Franklin have obviously been dipped in the Skynyrd and Allman lick tank, and drummer Richard Proctor has done some time listening to Uncle Butch Trucks and Jaimoe. Bassist Stephen Spivey went to school on Sly and the Family Stone as well as various and sundry R&B rhythm gods. Although they don't consider themselves a jam band, Tishamingo has been touring on the jam band circuit of late. As Southern rockers, it's their call whether to write a song about it or just go kick somebody's ass. The band opens for Waylandsphere. 10 p.m. 821-1120 or www.the-pour-house.com.
