In what seems like an effort to reach out to the community beyond its intimidating, Ivy-League stone walls, Duke University's Museum of Art has been sponsoring monthly events after working hours that tie into the national exhibits that fill the gallery aptly called "After Hours." In conjunction with the trippy photorealist painter Don Eddy's From Logic to Mystery art exhibit, the eclectic avant garde band, The X-Periment, will perform their mix of spoken-word poetry and music on Thursday, March 30. These talented artists combine elements of be-bop, swing, drum and bass, ska, electronica and hip-hop to come up with thought-provoking works that are truly x-perimental. DUMA is a perfect venue for the group and well worth a look, tucked just inside East Campus. If you drop by on your way home from work, there'll be refreshments and a cash bar to get you mellow for the concert that begins at 6:30 p.m. Call 684-5135 for more information.
