Belly laughs for a good cause, and a cure for your holiday humbugs--this Saturday night stop by The Basement (located under Bully's at 1102 Broad St., Durham) to see some of the country's hottest up-and-coming acts at the Hot Boys of Comedy-Comedy Show. Hosted by local Comedian Monte (of Club Signature fame), the evening's event will be taped for broadcast and proceeds are being donated to the Moore Family of Rocky Mount. Headlining is Comic C of Charlotte, who has appeared with some of comedy's giants, including Chris Rock, and will make you laugh till it hurts with his "Rules to Life." Comedian Ricky Dent of Wilmington, along with local talents Mocha (pictured) and Matthew Champion will round out the evening. Following the 8 and 10 p.m. shows is an after-party with DJ Little Bee and a performance by the King Ayoola Reggae Band. Watch this venue for upcoming performances that will provide much needed comic relief to Durham. Call 685-9992 for more info and tickets. $10 in advance and $15 at the door. --Liz Holm
