These days, things couldn't be better in Mannerland--the self-servicing, fan-interactive network the boys from Raleigh's Barefoot Manner (pictured above right) have created since their sold-out Pour House debut on Jan. 27, 2001. Besides playing their 300th show ever at Charlotte's Visulite Theatre two weeks ago, the Manner just came off a 25-date national tour that included stops at the High Sierra Festival in California. Reaping the benefits of a flourishing national tape-trader community, Manner pulled some 300 fans--many of whom sang along during the set--to their first ever show in Arizona.

"We basically got out of a van we'd been stuck in for four weeks going 9,000 miles ... with three days off the whole tour ... and the next day, we were all at a cookout together. These guys are truly my best friends," says Manner percussionist Jeff Garland. These five funk-infused bluegrass boys bring their sweltering Down South creation back to the Lincoln for a post-Phish, two-day stand, appropriately dubbed "Get Your Feet Wet."
