All good things must come to an end, but every end is a new beginning. Local rockers Vecordia (pictured), a four-piece unit whose multi-layered sonic assault has peeled the paint off Triangle club walls for the past several years, is entering another incarnation with the departure of Ben Flanagan and Raul Vanderburg and the arrival of John Stickley. To celebrate their transmigration, Vecordia will kick out the jams at Chapel Hill's Go! Rehearsal Studios this Friday, August 11, along with Strunken White and the b-sides. As complex as early Yes, as hard as early Metallica and utterly unpigeonholeable, Vecordia, who describe themselves as a local melodic hard-rock quartet, is a postmodern smorgasbord for the hearty appetite. Fewer than 100 copies of the band's last CD, a limited edition of all new and unreleased material, will be for sale at the show, so get there early, and bring your earplugs.
