He's My Brother She's My Sister, Paper Bird, Shakey Graves

When: Tue., March 5, 9 p.m. 2013

Distinguished by its pair of sibling co-leaders and a tap-dancing percussionist, the infectiously retro-rambunctious He's My Brother, She's My Sister's combines ragged rockabilly with the occasional smoky speakeasy vibe. Led by a trio of female vocalists, Colorado collective Paper Bird is seven songwriters strong; its male members add banjo, guitar, bass and drums (plus occasional harmony or lead) on a baroque blend of folk and indie rock. Texas troubadour and one-man-band Shakey Graves offers a stormy crossbreed of folk, blues and early rock 'n' roll, wringing tension from six strings and simple percussion. —Spencer Griffith
