Music worth leaving the house to hear this week

The Clientele with Fan Modine
Go! Room 4
Saturday, Sept. 13, 10 p.m.

London group The Clientele float lovelorn and bittersweet salvos with such brilliantly-hushed vocals and subtle nuances, you'll think breaking up is hard to do, but want do it over and over. Boston transplant to Carrboro, Gordon Zacharias, is Fan Modine, often adding friends to fill out the sound. There's no more perfect match for The Clientele, with Modine's anglophile pop on board. Tally ho! Call 969-1400 for more information. --Chris Toenes

Erase Errata with Numbers and Cantwell, Gomez and Jordan
Cat's Cradle
Tuesday, Sept. 16, 9:15 p.m.

Brruggghhzzzt! Bay area berserkers Erase Errata have whittled their scattered rhythms and edgy dynamics into a fine-tooth comb, capable of plucking up lots of noisy debris in large sweeps. San Fran neighbors Numbers bring a more tightly-coiled electro-shock to the game, with Devo-esque jerks and funky-tronic beats. Locals CG and J start the ruckus. 967-9053. --Chris Toenes
