Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion" Summer Love Tour

When: Sat., Sept. 11, 7:30 p.m. 2010

To give an idea of how deeply Garrison Keillor's laconic, homespun tales have ingrained themselves in the American consciousness, a parody volume was just released titled The Zombies of Lake Woebegotten. Yes, he has entered the elite ranks of literary parody alongside Jane Austen. In the eyes of some, that may be even more impressive than being the subject of Robert Altman's last film. Keillor's new cross-country tour, based on a theme of romantic love, includes such Companion classics as Guy Noir and Lake Wobegon News, along with audience sing-alongs, sound effects man Fred Newman and much more. This performance includes special appearances by Sara Watkins and Robin and Linda Williams. Lawn tickets are $39.50 in advance and $45 on the day of the show, with children ages 2 and under free; reserved and table seats are $59.50. —Zack Smith

Price: $40-60
