Garden Party: Art Grows in Durham

When: Sat., June 5, 1-5 p.m. 2010

Exercise your green thumb with the 12th annual garden party "Art Grows in Durham." Hosted by the local community garden and social organization SEEDS, the party features activities for all ages, including kids' projects, a huge plant sale, local food, artists and artwork for sale, music, dancers, a bake sale and more. There will also be local music and food from local eateries, along with a large plant sale. The free event takes place form 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at SEEDS' gardens at 706 Gilbert St. at Elizabeth. Admission to Art Grows in Durham is free. Tip: Get a Norfolk pine if you're particularly lazy. You water it once a week and that thing thrives. Seriously, it's impossible to kill.
