Future Crimes, Pie Faced Girls, Shadows

Raleigh punks Future Crimes begin their new self-titled EP with a warning: “I’m about to make straight people really uncomfortable.” But as frontman Ziggy Johnson bellows two songs later, on “Romney Riot Oh ‘12,” if “you’ve got a fucking voice/Learn to use it.” The band’s street punk is primitive, but their gay-centric approach to party songs and political tirades alike is refreshingly blunt. —Bryan C. Reed
