Filmage: The Story of Descendents/All

When: Fri., Feb. 28, 8:30 p.m. 2014

After seeing Filmage: The Story of The Descendents/ALL the first time, I listened almost exclusively to the band for a week. They'd soundtracked a significant portion of my adolescence, so I saw the documentary with a fan's wide eyes. But even for the uninitiated, Filmage offers a comprehensive (if not particularly critical) history of the pop-punk pioneers and their even peppier offshoot, ALL. Humorous and heartwarming subplots emerge from the Descendents' on-and-off career, ALL's "Where's Milo?" inferiority complex and band captain Bill Stevenson's more recent battle with a brain tumor. Almost People and B-Side Project, two sets of area Descendents descendants, play a free show after the movie screening. —Bryan C. Reed

Price: $8-$10
