"Fill Up the Jails": An MLK speech reenactment

When: Sun., June 8, 3-4 p.m. 2014

It has been almost 55 years since Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his first speech on filling up the jails as a creative protest. On Sunday, June 8 at 3pm, Marvin Blanks, nationally-recognized voice actor known as the “Orator of the Century,” will perform the speech in its hometown of Durham. The free event is open to the public and hosted by NC State University’s Virtual Martin Luther King Jr. Project.
