Evil Wiener Weiner Roast

When: Wed., July 4, 7 p.m.-1 a.m. 2012

"Some things the U.S. has done are questionable, but rock 'n' roll is a great gift we've given the world," says Billy Sugarfix, lead singer of the playful rock trio Evil Wiener. For 11 years now, the band has been throwing a "Weiner Roast" on July 4—spelling it right for their event where they spell it wrong in their own name—with a feast of catchy tunes and grilled dogs to all comers. Independence Day may be all about fireworks for some people, but for Sugarfix it's all about musical pride. "Rock 'n' roll is an American invention and that is what we in Evil Wiener celebrate every year," he proclaims. This year, Juan Huevos joins the fun, adding his bombastic rap persona to this happy Independence Day party. Weenie-roasting begins at 7:30 p.m., and the music starts at 10 p.m.; admission is free.
