NELSON MANDELA AUDITORIUM AT THE FEDEX GLOBAL EDUCATION CENTERThis year is the 25th anniversary of the NC Latin American Film Festival, a production of the UNC-Duke Consortium in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. The films have been rolling since the beginning of October and continue through Nov. 6. Ecuadorian director Victor Arregui's recent feature El Facilitador (The Facilitator), the festival's penultimate offering, is a political thriller about a woman named Elena who goes to work on her grandfather's estate in the Andes to escape from her substance abuse problems and her strained relationship with her ailing father. There, she learns that her dad is involved in a project that threatens the indigenous people's water access and becomes a community organizer, finding herself caught between her burgeoning ideals and her family. In Spanish, with English subtitles. 7 p.m., free, 301 Pittsboro St., 919-962-2435, www.latinfilmfestivalnc.com. —Brian Howe
