Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them | Manbites Dog Theater | Stage | Indy Week

Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them

When: Dec. 1-17 2011

Live dramatic theater is a difficult venture in the best of circumstances, which is why musicals and name-brand shows get produced as often as they do. So hats off to Manbites Dog Theater, the Durham outfit that consistently seeks out the new and challenging, as it has done for 25 years. In a particularly rapid acquisition, Edith Can Shoot Things and Hit Them comes to Durham a mere eight months after it premiered at Louisville's Humana Festival of new plays. Hot on the heels of productions in Miami and Atlanta, this version of A. Rey Pamatmat's comedy is directed by Jeff Storer, who cast the show with a trio of fresh young faces. Co-produced with Duke's Department of Theater Studies, it's the story of three children surviving on their own: a brother and sister abandoned by their parents, and one of their friends. —David Fellerath

Price: $15-17
