The annual Art Walk Spring Market is an un-juried celebration of all that is unique and creative in this city. More than 200 visual and performance artists, entrepreneurs, musicians, and fashion and jewelry designers show their stuff at dozens of sites that are within walking distance but also are connected by a free shuttle bus service. Visit DurhamArtWalk.com for a map, a list of artists and performances and other details.
All events are free; don't miss this year's "Scan"venger Hunt (scan a QR code at each site to earn discounts at local businesses) or the nine-hole putt-putt course at the Golden Belt Complex. Start your tour at the Durham Arts Council, 120 Morris St.; hours are 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday and 1–5 p.m. Sunday. There's also a pre-event shindig at Beyu Caffe on Friday from 5:30–8 p.m., as well as after-hours parties at the Pinhook on Saturday from 5–8 p.m. and Bull City Burger & Brewery on Sunday from 5–7 p.m. —Christina Cass
