Duke Celebrates Durham: Where Great Things Happened in 1963

When: Sat., Oct. 5, 1:45-3:30 p.m. 2013

In 1963, five black undergraduate students integrated Duke University. The community is invited to celebrate these trailblazers & the various leaders in Durham who broke segregated barriers. Mayor Bill Bell, Congressman G.K. Butterfield & Duke President Richard H. Brodhead will present opening remarks.Celebration includes civil & human rights exhibits, inspirational music, a panel of distinguished leaders & a town hall discussion.
