When: Fridays, 8 p.m. Continues through Oct. 29 2010
If you asked the American public what period of their lives they'd rather forget, it's a safe bet most would answer high school. It's that awkward social navigation and coming-of-age drama that DSI Comedy Theater captures in their weekly improvised show, DSI High. The seven performers, coached by PT Scarborough, have developed specific high school characters, such as The Super-Super-Senior and The Horse-Lover, though these characters are the only common factors from show to show.
"The actors get suggestions from the audience about different situations from high school, and then each character improvises a whole scenario involving that concept," says Zach Ward, artistic director of the theater. "It becomes a funny teen soap opera."
The series picked up its third season this month, with shows every Friday in October at 8 p.m. —Lauren Shute
