Demons | Colony Theater | Holidays | Indy Week

When: Wed., Oct. 27, 8 p.m. 2010

"They will make cemeteries their cathedrals and the cities will be your tombs!" So reads the poster for 1985's Demons (aka Dmoni), the latest in Cinema Overdrive's October insanity. Horror maestro Dario Argento co-wrote the script and produced this film, which has the simple plot of a horror movie screening erupting into violence as the audience is transformed into bloodthirsty demons. Hopefully, things will turn out better in Raleigh. With an '80s soundtrack that includes Billy Idol, Mötley Crüe and, inexplicably, Rick Springfield, Demons is retro-horror at its finest. Five dollars gets you in at 8 p.m., and that includes a wide variety of classic trailers. All this, plus an original print by local artist Danny Miller for sale. —Zack Smith
