David Hyde Pierce | Carolina Inn | Stage | Indy Week

David Hyde Pierce

When: Sat., Feb. 12 2011

He'll be immortal to generations of TV watchers as Kelsey Grammer's fussy brother, Niles Crane, on Frasier—and won four Emmys for his work—but David Hyde Pierce's first love is the stage, a love he's stayed loyal to both during and since his TV run. Now he's being honored for his body of work at the company's PlayMakers Ball, where he'll receive their Distinguished Achievement Award. We'll have an interview with Pierce on Artery, the Indy's arts blog, but if you want to meet him in person, tickets to the black-tie event are $500; the price includes a gourmet meal and music by the Bill Bolen Orchestra. For tickets to the ball, contact Lenore Field at 452-8417 or lenore.field@gmail.com. —Zack Smith
