Compagnie de Danse Jean-René Delsoin | Duke Campus: The Ark | Stage | Indy Week

Compagnie de Danse Jean-René Delsoin

When: Fri., Oct. 26, 7 p.m. 2012

Buoyed by their new studio building, the American Dance Festival is becoming a year-round phenomenon. This weekend, they host the Haitian Compagnie de Danse Jean-René Delsoin for a two-day residency as part of their Center Stage tour. The eight dancers and musicians have been lauded for their raw energy as well as for representing the best of contemporary Haitian choreography. The company gives a free, informal performance at the Ark at 7 p.m. Friday; there's also a master class 12–1:30 p.m. Friday at ADF's Hull Avenue Dance Studio, and more master classes on Saturday, including a youth class for ages 9–12 from 1 to 2 p.m. —Chris Vitiello

Corrections: The residency is part of a partnership between ADF, the Duke Dance Department and Duke's Haiti Lab. Also, the Hull Avenue Dance Studio is Duke's studio (not ADF's).
