COME OUT AND PLAY

SATURDAY, SEPT. 12, PITTSBORO

JIMGIN FARM—Come Out and Play began in 2002 when local sculptors Hunter Levinsohn, Jackie Helvey, Anke Gassen, Hollie Taylor and Debbie Meyer decided to honor people affected by 9/11 with an outdoor sculpture show on a horse farm, a lovely location suitable for large pieces. It grew into an annual event, and Meyer says more than 1,700 people visited during its five-week run last year. In its 14th installment, more than 80 artists spread their works, many of which will be for sale, across 17 acres. This is the second of three Saturday receptions (with the last on Sept. 19) welcoming picnickers, leashed-dog walkers and sculpture shoppers onto the farmlands from 3 p.m. until dark. 3 p.m., free, 150 Wild Horse Run, Pittsboro,
