Children of Greece | Common Ground Theatre | Stage | Indy Week

Children of Greece

When: Sat., July 13, 11 a.m. & 1 p.m. 2013

I went to children's theater camp for seven summers in my hometown of Miami, and I swear, it taught me everything I know about collaboration, hard work and needing to be the center of attention. Common Ground offers a similar opportunity to aspiring performers and techies with their summer performing arts camp for children ages 5–12. To culminate the camp's first one-week session, CG brings its young participants together to present kid-appropriate adaptations of the myths of "Pandora's Box," "Daedalus & Icharus" and "The Midas Touch" from Hawthorne's Tanglewood Tales and Ovid's Metamorphoses, focusing on (what else?) the children in these stories. Children of Greece also features special performances from Transactors Improv Company's show for all ages, TAFFY: Transactors for Families. —Emma D. Miller
