Chiddy Bang, Lazarus

When: Sat., March 31, 9:30 p.m. 2012

An ideal headliner for N.C. State's All Night Bash, Philly rap duo Chiddy Bang cranks out a college-friendly fusion of hip-hop and indie rock. Pitting soulful Yeezy nods such as the single "Ray Charles" alongside cuts sampling from the hip set of Radiohead, Passion Pit and Sufjan Stevens or the more unexpected Tom Waits, producer Xaphoon Jones powers the party anthems over which Chiddy spits his witty wordplay. Underrated Raleigh rhymer Lazarus rewards in the opening slot with gritty street rap built around smooth R&B hooks. Admission is $20, or $5 for N.C. State students; gates open at 5 p.m. for carnival games, with the music starting at 9:30 p.m. —Spencer Griffith

Price: $20 ($5 students)
