Carolina Ballet's Dracula

When: Thu., Oct. 14 2010

In his day, Dracula didn't need glitter to become wildly popular—no teen starlets featured the original Transylvania. But principal guest choreographer Lynne Taylor-Corbett has returns to the source material, Bram Stoker's novel, which follows solicitor Jonathan Harker on his travels to Transylvania. He gradually learns that his employer is not exactly what he seems. Also on the program is The Masque of the Red Death, created by artistic director Robert Weiss. Edgar Allan Poe's short story concerns a prince who throws a masquerade while hiding out trying to avoid a plague. Performances run through Halloween.—Sarah Ewald

Price: $25-$65
