GARNER PERFORMING ARTS CENTER—When a company calls a play a "family show," this isn't what they usually mean. But in Can I Get a Witness?, the Marshall family of Rolesville inaugurates what it calls its new Black theater company with all hands on deck: Mother Robin, with a playwriting MFA from Antioch, wrote the script and choreography; father Bryan, ex-NYPD, produces and acts; daughter Monet, whom we've already enjoyed on regional stages, directs; brother Andre works backstage. The group has recruited a cast of 20 for its musical gospel courtroom play, which asks, "Is Jesus alive?" Peter Singh Jr. leads the band. —Byron Woods
