Brew Durham 4 Homebrew Festival

When: Sat., May 4, 1-8 p.m. 2013

News flash: April is no longer the cruelest month. It's North Carolina Beer Month, aft er all. And local brewers are fudging the calendar to extend the suds into May, hosting Brew Durham 4, a fundraiser for the Scrap Exchange that's all about local homebrews and local food from locally grown ingredients. On Belt Line Station, a converted train platform by Cordoba Center for the Arts, you'll get to sample 50 types of beer crafted by 25 of the Triangle's finest home brewers. Treats from Monuts Donuts, Toast, Geer Street Garden, Dos Perros, Mateo Bar de Tapas, DaisyCakes and Loaf will fill your belly, concocted with pasture-raised pork and organic local veggies donated by Farmhand Foods and Eastern Carolina Organics. Come thirsty and hungry, and bring your ID.—Chris Vitiello

Price: $15-40
