Bleeding Hearts, Strange Faces

When: Sat., Dec. 17, 9 p.m. 2011

Raleigh's reigning royalty of raw rock, the Bleeding Hearts recently reunited with original guitarist Joe Yerry, who adds flair to the quartet's squalid, '70s-style riff-fests. The fellows claim a "shit ton" of fresh songs are in store, undoubtedly imbued with the same Thin Lizzy and Cheap Trick influence as the older cuts. After going on hiatus in 2009, Strange Faces reunited in January; in the meantime, the moody modern rock quartet has worked out new material, while bassist Mark Connor established himself as a familiar face in local rock circles, performing with upward of a dozen acts. —Spencer Griffith
